KAPPA III scholars received a tour of the St. John’s University campus located in Queens, NY. St. Johns University is a Catholic University, although they have many other religious affiliations. The university has many academic programs and it is a Division I school for sports with about 17 teams. The school has core values: truth, love, respect, excellence, service and opportunity. It is known for academic excellence and sports.
There are approximately 20,000 students enrolled in the university. Currently, the tuition costs $36,500, while room and board is $15,500. There are financial assistance scholarships and work-study programs to help students with college expenses. Also, The university does offer study abroad programs and internships to their students.
During the visit, KAPPA III scholars visited the law school, the gym and other landmarks on the campus. As well, our scholars were able to see the dormitories. Overall, it was a great trip as the St. John’s University staff were very welcoming and friendly, and were impressed with our scholars.
The scenery is beautiful. There is a lot of technology and the craziest part is that they have outlets on most of the tall trees!

I really enjoyed this trip to St. John’s University! While I am going back home I am going with a new mindset and understanding of the school, its programs and just all the opportunities that are up for grabs.
This trip was amazing. I got to see the idea of how this school works. Now I am considering going to this college.
